The Institute of Education Sciences released a report that tracks the movement, attrition, and retention of West Virginia's teachers and administrators. The report was produced by Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Appalachia, in partnership with the National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance. REL Appalachia is administered by CNA Corporation. CEEP research associate Colleen Chesnut co-authored the report.
The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) is the statistics, research, and evaluation arm of the U.S. Department of Education. Ten (10) Regional Educational Laboratories (RELs) serve the education needs of designated regions, using applied research, development, dissemination, and training and technical assistance, to bring the latest and best research and proven practices into school improvement efforts. An earlier news item from August 2014 detailed CEEP's involvement in REL Appalachia.
